Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card information

This card looks very solid with cool benefits. In short, you get both Starwood hotel bonus points (that you can use for payment in Starwood hotels) and airline miles bonus points which make this a very good traveler credit card.

10000 points should get you a few nights in a hotel and 20000 points (plus 5000 extra points you get from Starwood) should buy you a round-trip in economy class.

Fees - no annual fee for first year, after that $45 annual fee, the APR is as low as prime rate plus 9.99%, 2.9% fixed rate introductory APR.

Let's take a more detailed look at this Starwood credit card.

Good sides:

  • Your earned points are available both for paying Starwood hotels and airline miles
  • 10000 Starpoints with first purchase with your Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card - enough for a few nights in a category 1 or 2 hotel
  • Double points earned for stays and purchases made at select Starwood retail outlets
  • You get additional 5000 points if you transfer 20000 points into miles
  • No annual fee for your first year for using this Starwood credit card
  • Annual 50% discount on future Starwood stays for up to 5 nights - again a nice feature for a traveler credit card
  • No blackout dates or capacity restrictions for redeeming points - unlike most others hotel programs and traveler credit cards

Bad sides:

  • I wanted to give you some bad sides of this Starwood credit card, but I can't find any at the moment (will try more, but for now, no bad sides visible)

Summary

Very good card indeed! Points that you can use both for hotels and airline miles are great for any keen traveler, business or personal. First year fee for Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card is free and you get a nice amount (10000) of points for your first purchase. I recommend this card. Good luck!
